He founded the company in 2005 with a vision to advance healthcare, well-being, nutrition, and evidence-based innovation.
Sanjaya was on the panel of the task force created by the Indian Government to bring strategic transformation in the nutraceutical industry. He has previously served as the Chairman of the nutraceutical sub-committee of FICCI and as President of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Currently, he serves as the President of the Association of Herbal and Nutraceutical Manufacturers of India (AHNMI).
With over 40 years of industry experience, Sanjaya contributes his expertise to the boards of Jayant Agro Organics, Auto Hangar, and VKL Spices—bringing strategic insights across diverse sectors. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and Stanford University, his well-rounded approach blends business acumen with a passion for the finer things in life, fuelling creativity and enabling meaningful contributions to the community.

1984 – Joined (Botanical Extracts Division) of Bombay Oil Industries
The Mariwala family, originally spice traders, established Bombay Oil Industries Limited (BOIL). The company was built on their expertise in the commodities and spice trade, with manufacturing units in Mumbai and Kerala. During the 1980s, the business was divided among family members, with Sanjaya Mariwala leading the Botanical Extracts Division, which later evolved into Kancor Ingredients.

1985 - CEO and Managing Director, Kancor Ingredients Limited
Sanjaya Mariwala became CEO and Managing Director of Kancor Ingredients Limited. Kancor was a pioneer in natural food ingredients and extracts that later expanded into global markets.

2004 – OmniActive Health Technologies (OmniActive) came into existence
Sanjaya founded his own nutraceutical company that specializes in the development and manufacturing of nutritional and active natural ingredients.

2009 Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry (Kerala)
Sanjaya chaired the CII Kerala chapter, representing the interests of the state's industrial sector, where the Mariwala family’s spice extraction operations were also based.

2014 - Sold the majority of shares in Kancor Ingredients
The Mariwala family sold a majority stake in Kancor Ingredients to the French company MANE. At the time of the sale, Sanjaya Mariwala was the Managing Director and played a key role in facilitating this strategic partnership, which brought together Kancor’s expertise and MANE’s global scale.

2020 - Founder President, Association of Herbal and Nutraceutical Manufacturers of India (AHNMI)
Sanjaya founded and serves as President of AHNMI, with the aim of positioning India as a global leader in the herbal and nutraceutical sector, building on his family’s legacy in natural ingredients.

2021 - Chairman, Nutraceutical Subcommittee of FICCI
As Chairman of FICCI’s Nutraceutical Subcommittee, Sanjaya Mariwala played a key role in shaping industry standards and policy, underscoring his leadership in India’s nutraceutical sector.

2024 - President, IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry
